With a fifth heatwave pushing temperatures towards 36°C across the south of England, Good Morning Britain visited our Barking site to explore a side of the story that hadn’t had much attention: the danger extreme heat poses to homeless people.
Reporter Nick Dixon met our team on site, where guests can grab a towel and toiletries and use one of our shower containers, just a few minutes that make a real difference when there’s nowhere else to cool down. Sarah, our CEO, explained that guests come in dealing with sunburn and no access to a cool space, and that a shower and some time indoors help them carry on the day feeling clean, confident, and connected.
