Sarah Lamptey, founder of ShowerBox, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List for her services to homeless people. Talking about the honour Sarah said:
“I share this award with my volunteers. Several are by my side each week, throughout the challenges and through the moments of brightness and connection. ShowerBox cannot run without them. I want to thank everyone who has supported ShowerBox over the years; all the organisations who have awarded us grants and supported us with donations. I am so grateful. ShowerBox was born out of a simple desire to lighten the load that sadly so many people bear. We believe that everyone deserves to feel clean and dignified, and we are committed to supporting as many people as we can.”
