Our Impact

We understand some of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness, and we’re here to offer a helping hand.

Since the launch of ShowerBox in 2018 we have provided roughly:

Showers

Pairs of underwear

Haircuts*

*Guests using our hair clippers

Although providing a safe shower space is at the heart of what we do at ShowerBox, we strive to be more than just shower units. We want to help combat the isolation that often comes with homelessness. During our services, we provide hot drinks and snacks, alongside toiletries and underwear. Guests and volunteers spend time talking together, and as a result, a valued sense of community has grown around the showers.

Since our launch we have monitored our numbers to ensure we’re making a difference. We record the number of guests who have showers each week and those who visit us for essential items alone. Guest feedback is an essential part of this process, helping us ensure our services meet their needs. ShowerBox doesn’t operate in isolation. We work closely with other charities and organisations to offer a holistic approach to support.

We do what we can to connect our guests with other services, such as Turn A Corner’s Mobile Library, Camden Mobile Health in Central London, professional hairdressers and community support days.
